Melford A Larson, MD is a graduate of the University of California Medical School, San Francisco (UCSF). He completed a 1 year rotating internship at San Joaquin General Hospital and 3 years of Internal Medicine Residency at SJGH. He was Chief Resident in Internal Medicine his 3rd year. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Upon completion of his residency in 1966, he established his Internal Medicine practice on Center Street in Manteca then he joined the staff of Doctors Hospital of Manteca. He continued on the DHM Staff until he retired from hospital work in August 2007.While at DHM he set up the initial CPR protocols and helped to establish the ICU/CCU at DHM. He was Director of ICU/CCU for 27 years and was director of Medical Education for 14 years. He continues his office practice in Internal Medicine. He retains an active interest in Internal Medicine.

He completed his training in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in 2002. His Hyperbaric chambers were installed in June of 2007. He has since attended many Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and Wound Care Meetings to further up-to-date Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. He has a special interest in patients with chronic and difficult to treat problems. Besides wound care, patients with Neurological problems such as Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury and Stroke often seem to benefit.
